What is left in the Old Testament to be fulfilled?

There are several places in the Old Testament that refer to the future, but we are going to look at three main areas.

Obadiah/Psalm 82, Joel 2, Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 38 & 39

First, letŐs look at Isaiah.  In Isaiah 17 we learn about the fate of Damascus, Syria.  Isaiah told us that it would become a ruinous heap.

Isaiah. 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Damascus is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.  Today we know that a nuclear bomb is the tool that does such a thing.  So Isaiah is telling us that in the near future, Damascus will be destroyed by the nuclear bomb.

Second, letŐs take a look the Obadiah.  Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament.  It tells us of a future war that Israel will have with those that surround them now.  During the coming war, Israel will expand its borders from where they are today.

Obad. 19 And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau;(Bozrah, Jordon) and they of the plain the Philistines (Gaza): and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim (West Bank), and the fields of Samaria (West Bank): and Benjamin shall possess Gilead (West Bank of Jordan).

Obad. 20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, (The Land of the Canaanites is ALL of the colored areas on the map picture) even unto Zarephath (Sarafand, Lebanon); and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

Gilead starts at Mt. Nebo and goes north to Syria.   Zarephath is modern Sarafand, Lebanon.  So IsraelŐs border will go north to Sarafand, and itŐs eastern borders will be that of Gilead. Mount Esau is at Bozrah, Jordan.  Gaza and the West Bank are the home of the PLO.  So it looks like those areas will be totally taken over by Israel.

So accordingly, Israel will be much larger than it is today.  Take a look at the map that shows the areas that Obadiah is talking about. Click here it see a larger version.

The areas in color show the lands that Israel will possess after some near future war.

Canaan is an ancient term for a region encompassing modern-day Israel, Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories, plus adjoining coastal lands and parts of Jordan, Syria and northeastern Egypt. In the Hebrew Bible, the "Land of Canaan" extends from Lebanon southward across Gaza to the "Brook of Egypt" and eastward to the Jordan River Valley, thus including modern Israel and the Palestinian Territories.

Most everyone who studies the Bible, knows that there will be some precursor event that will lead up to, or hasten the war mentioned in Ezekiel 38 & 39.  So as the world situation is changing closer to those events everyday, just what do I feel could happen in the near future.

Here is a map of the tribes of Israel and the land that God gave to them. Look how Obadiah's decsription of the land that Israel will possess, the tribe maps look alot alike.

The Coming Event!

I feel that in the very near future, maybe in 2011-2012, Israel will attack Iran to stop its nuclear program.    As soon as that happens, Iran will ask those countries that surround Israel, along with terrorist groups, Hamas, Hezbollah (Iranian Backed), Islamic Jihad, PLO etc., to attack Israel.   Syria, who is great friends with Iran, will attack with her armies.  This will leave Israel with no choice but to attack Damascus with a nuclear bomb.  This then will fulfill Isaiah 17.  Damascus, Syria is only 25 miles from IsraelŐs Northern border, on the other side of some steep mountains.  The mountains will shield Israel from the blast.

At the same time, Israel with her armies, will be advancing and taking over the areas shown on the map.   To stop IsraelŐs advance, the Arabs will call, more than likely, on the UN for a cease-fire.  This will leave them with much less land than they have today.

A period of peace will then take place, maybe three to seven years.  The Arabs will then regroup, and rearm themselves, this time they all will attack with RussiaŐs help.  This will be when the war of Ezekiel 38 & 39 will take place.

What Is A Generation?

Matt. 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

So this gets us back to what is a generation? Let's see what the Bible says. Matt. 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

The time from Abraham to Christ is 2160 years. Divide that by 14 + 14 + 14 = 42, you get a generation is 52 years. So let's back that up with another occurance. Luke 3:23 lists all the generations of Christs to Adam, which is 77 generations. The time span from Adam to Christ is 4000 years. Divide 4000 by 77 and you get 52 years!

When Will This Last Day Season Become Fully Ripe?

Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948. During the 6 Day War in June 1967, she got back all of Jerusalem! This is what started the prophetic time clock. So let us add 52 years to 1967, and you get 2019. Wait, we have to subtract 7 years for the tribulation, and you get 2012. Now before you get hung-up on date setting, I am not saying that the year 2012 is the year. But, what I am saying, is that this shows us that we will have entered into ripeness of the Season. Remember, Jesus said, that no man knowth the day or hour! But, he also said, that we would know the Season. We are in the Last Day Season now, but it will soon be fully ripe!

Matt. 24:32 ¦ Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Matt. 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Remember Jesus said that no man would know the day or the hour. That would also mean that we would not know the minute, or the second. In the twinkling of an eye we will all be changed. A blink is a reflex action of the eye and lasts somewhere between 300 and 400 milliseconds. A twink is a reflected particle of light seen in the eye and thusly travels at the speed of light (983,571,056 feet per second) This equates to an infinitesimally small fraction of a second, so it would be fair to say it occurs in about a billionth of a second (which in itself is such a small period of time as to be nearly inconceiveable, but is gigantic compared to the actual time in which a twinkle occurs).

So if you multiply all the twimkles of a second by the the number of seconds in a day. You get a number so large that it is literally impossibe for us to guess. There is only 7 billion people on Earth. There are over 864,000,000,000,000,000,000+ times to guess. Now you have to multiply all of that, by a factor of 39, there are 39 time zones around the world. And, while is it today here, it is already tomorrow somewheres eles. If we all took one guess, there is no way we could ever guess it anyway. So it is easy to see why God is the only one who knows.

He did NOT say that we would not know the week, month, year, or decade! So when someone who watches the prophetic season time, tells you events are fixing to happen, don't judge them to quick!. They are just trying to help you to know that the TIME is getting very, very, close.

So When Do I Think The Rapture Will Come?

I think the Rapture is as close to happening as to be between the years 2012 and 2015. I think it will occur during the Fall Feasts. Could this time frame move up, sure it can! If events listed above occur sooner, then the Rapture time will move closer. It also, means if events needing to be fulfilled have not yet come to pass, the Rapture time will be moved out. Remember, everything will be in it's time or season! Keep your eyes on Israel! Everything to do with Bible prophecy involves Israel! Remember, in America, we think the world revolves around us. Read your Bible, America is not even mentioned!
